Facilitation Guide for Sample Lesson Plan
Strategies:
- Create buy in for the case; discuss how real the case is, maybe provide a person example of something similar happening
- Can portray case as vignette with help of drama students or volunteers
- Remain neutral and flexible with the direction of the discussion
- Don't provide answers, but clarify questions when asked about the case
- Take notes about how the case went to improve for next time
- If based on a real case, the case can be ended by discussion what actually happened in the real case
- act as guidance through case
- provide clarification when asked and the answer is known, if it is unknown at that point then say so
- be sounding board for ideas from participants
- provide background info to case
- summarize what happened at the end
- provide what happened with the real case if based on true story
- provide follow up assignments to assess what was learned during case
